Budgeting is crucial for one's success, no matter your stage of life, and learning this at a young age can set up the foundation for a successful financial future.
The USSFCU Foundation team joined Jackson-Reed High School's Reality Fair, where students began their day by selecting a career. Based on their chosen career, students received a monthly income and were required to make real-life decisions they may expect in young adulthood such as transportation, food, housing, banking, bills and paying credit card debt in accordance with their budget. While stopping by the different booths, students encountered new life transitions and scenarios – such as getting married and having kids – that further challenged their budgeting and financial skills.
